This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished First Contact Physiotherapist to join a local Primary Care Network in Liverpool on a temporary contract (Locum).
Start Date: Oct 2024
Days: x3 Days per week (flexible days)
Salary: Competitive
Duration: 9 months.
Contract Type: Temporary (Locum)JOB DESCRIPTION
The primary focus of the role is consulting with patients in respect of their MSK conditions, independently, without prior contact with their GP, to establish a rapid and accurate diagnosis and management plan.
The role will also entail contributing to the design of patient MSK pathways, sharing best practice with the wider primary care team and leading on patient education relevant to their clinical expertise in the field of physiotherapy and MSK.
The following elements are highly desirable for the successful candidate to possess:
> Independent prescribing qualification
> The required training and experience in delivering joint injections
> The ability to request radiology tests (IRMER etc.)FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The post-holder will be working closely within the Primary Care Network (PCN), this is likely to include attending meetings, sharing of best practice and working on wider PCN objectives.The post holder will take professional responsibility as a first contact physiotherapist, with high level decision-making and clinical-reasoning skills to assess, diagnose and triage of patients.
Manages a complex caseload (including patients with long-term conditions, co-morbidities and multi-factorial needs), Leads, manages and contributes to service delivery.

- non-medical independent prescribing,
- joint / soft tissue injections
- joint aspirationsEssential - Completed an undergraduate degree in Physiotherapy
Essential - Health & Care Professions Council Registered Physiotherapist
Essential - Be a member of the CSP or appropriate professional body
Essential - A Masters Level qualification or equivalent specialist musculoskeletal knowledge, skills and experience.
